Getting Started with Architects of Wealth

2 min read

A beginner's walkthrough of Architects of Wealth: your first business, the $10k milestone, investing, decisions, and the road to a multi-era empire.

Why play Architects of Wealth?

Architects of Wealth is a strategy game about building an empire from a single $5,000 venture into an interstellar civilization. You don't grind a spreadsheet — you make choices. Which business to launch, when to raise prices, when to reinvest, when to walk away.

This guide is the fastest way to get from the first hustle to the first real business, without wasting your opening hours on dead ends.

Your first hour: pick a hustle, hit the ladder

You start on the Hustles screen with $5,000. The Early-Climb Ladder shows the exact steps: pick a hustle, run it until you clear the $10,000 milestone, then unlock your first real business.

Don't over-optimize. A steady hustle you actually keep clicking beats a theoretically better one you forget about. Momentum is the resource that matters early.

The $10,000 milestone

$10,000 in cash is the gate to businesses. Until you clear it, the game keeps you on hustles on purpose — this is where you learn the rhythm of income, expenses, and time passing.

Once you cross it, open Businesses and buy the cheapest option in a sector you understand. A small business you run well is worth more than a big one you can't afford to staff.

Investing without losing the plot

The market is real: prices move, sectors rotate, and drawdowns happen. Early on, treat investing as a way to park cash you're not spending on your next business — not as a second job.

Real estate compounds quietly in the background. Stocks reward patience. Neither of them replaces owning the businesses that generate your cash flow.

Decisions that actually matter

Pop-up decisions are scale-aware: what shows up at Hustler scale is different from what shows up once you're running a national operation. Read the option costs before you tap — the game will not spend cash you don't have, but it will happily lock you out of good options if you overextend.

When in doubt, take the choice that keeps you liquid. You can't seize an opportunity you can't fund.

Watching eras turn

As your net worth grows, the world evolves around you. New sectors open up, old ones consolidate, and the decisions you get offered change. This is the long game — the part most guides don't reach.

Save often. The cloud save is authoritative, and the app will warn you if a conflict needs resolving before you keep playing.
